AKC Sportsmanship Award
The AKC Outstanding Sportsmanship Award honors those members who deserve special recognition for the difference that they have made in the sport of purebred dogs, whether that is in the conformation ring or performance venue, and have been an active and valued member of the Miniature American Shepherd Club of the USA "MASCUSA".
What Makes a Good Sportsman?
- Displays integrity, fairness, and honesty
- Is courteous and kind and welcomes newcomers to our breed
- Volunteers in club activities/committees
- Encourages others
- Supports others in activities/wins in conformation or performance events
- Promotes overall goodwill amongst other exhibitors and club members
Rules for Nominations
- Must be a MASCUSA member in good standing
- Your nominee cannot have already received this honor
Nominations
Sportsmanship Award nominees will be solicited by the MASCUSA Board with a poll sent out to MASCUSA members in good standing as of December 31. Nominations will be presented to the MASCUSA Board. The Award will be given out at the Gala during the MASCUSA Nationals.
Voting
Each board member may vote for one name only. If there is a tie, there will be a second vote to break the tie. If no names are submitted by the membership or board, it is not mandatory that the award be given.
